Trip to the beach: Pelagia Noctiluca
Our first trip to the beach our first day did not begin well with stinging and since then jellyfish has been a hot topic. The recent days the temperature has gone up a few degrees so swimming in the sea has become more attractive, both for humans and jellyfish.
Yesterday the kids collected some and used them for school when the worldschoolers met up. Some got stung and some could just lift them up with bare hands. In situations like these I like to just hold the fort on land and do the comforting- service when needed. And documenting of course.
Pelagia Noctiluca is the name of our new friends and we have discussed some of the news about them at the house tonight. This was the first article we looked up when we arrived and I am happy we arrived when the waters were a bit colder than mid summer. First it looked like we would only be swimming in the pool. More news. And also interesting.
I am quite happy we got so many alive because they are incredibly beautiful in their element compared to on the beach out of water.
