Mysteries from the sea

Well this is a totally different gift from the sea. How did this friend end up in the pool? The kids found one more too and one of the neighbors told me he had seen a couple on the street outside too. 

It can be interpreted in many ways, just like a child in a foreign country, it's a water creature in a foreign type of water. 

 Fascinating when it dried and changed colors.
